In 2024, 185 individuals in the Republic of Moldova declared a total income of 24.7 million lei earned from selling products through cash-on-delivery postal services, the State Tax Service (STS) announced.

The cash-on-delivery system allows buyers to pay for goods upon delivery, and postal operators later transfer the money to sellers.

Based on these declared revenues, the authorities calculated 2.4 million lei in income tax.

The STS reminded taxpayers that all income from commercial activities — including those carried out through postal deliveries — must be declared and taxed according to the law. The institution will continue fiscal compliance inspections in the coming period.
