Money from Canada and France is coming to Moldova. The Parliament has ratified two agreements regarding financial support

France and Canada will provide financial support to Moldova. The French Development Agency (AFD) will offer budgetary support for financing the transition to a green economy, while His Majesty the King of Canada will assist with the state budget’s needs. The Parliament ratified the agreements signed between the Government of Moldova and the Executives of both countries.

The French Development Agency will grant Moldova a loan of 25 million euros and a 1.2 million euro grant. The loan’s maturity is 15 years, including a five-year grace period. Repayment will occur semi-annually in 20 equal installments. These funds will be used to implement reforms in energy infrastructure, energy efficiency, renewable energy, consumer protection, and environmental protection.

Canada will provide budgetary support worth 120 million Canadian dollars. The funds will support household and refugee resilience, promote sustainable economic growth through increased competition and private sector-driven growth, and aid in climate resilience and the transition to green energy. The Canadian loan will be disbursed in two installments. Its maturity is 10 years, including a three-year grace period.
