Moldovan rowers won seven medals at the World Championships in Italy: five in Under 23 and two among youth, the National Olympic and Sports Committee announced on June 10.
So, Maria Olarasu won two gold medals and one bronze. At the 500m doubles in pare with Daniela Cociu at the 500m mixed doubles with Mihai Chihaya – gold. In the individual 500m – bronze. Elena Glizan has a very good performance – silver at 5,000 meters and bronze at 1,000 meters.
Among the youth, Mikhail Chulchak won two bronze medals – in the 500 meters individual and the 1,000 meters in tandem with Stanislav Banar.
In Under 23, Moldova finished 4th in the medal standings behind Hungary, Spain, and Germany and 7th in the overall standings.
