The US Embassy in Chisinau reacted to the personnel reshuffle in the government. The diplomats thanked Nicu Popescu for his cooperation and congratulated Mihai Popsoi on his appointment.
The diplomatic mission praised Popescu’s work to consolidate the Moldovan-American relations. The message also mentioned Moldova’s European course.
“All of us at U.S. Mission Moldova are grateful for Foreign Minister Popescu’s extraordinary contributions to the strong relationship between the United States and the Republic of Moldova. Nicu’s work has significantly advanced Moldova along its path toward EU accession. His personal dedication has been integral to our joint success in building a more democratic, prosperous, and secure Moldova,” the US Embassy in Chisinau stated.

In addition to congratulations to Mihai Popsoi, messages were also addressed to Cristina Gherasimov, who was appointed Minister for European Affairs, and to Doina Gherman, who will become Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
“We also congratulate Mihai Popsoi on his nomination as Moldova’s next Foreign Minister, Cristina Gherasimov on her nomination to assume the newly-created role of Minister for European Integration, and Doina Gherman’s nomination to be a deputy speaker of the Parliament. We look forward to continuing our partnership and working together to further develop the relationship between our countries,” representatives of the Embassy stressed.
