The co-rapporteurs from the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are scheduled to undertake a fact-finding mission to Moldova from February 4 to 7. As communicated by the parliament’s Department of Communication and Public Relations, the visit will center around discussions on crucial topics such as the political landscape, electoral reform, justice sector reforms, parliamentary oversight, and anti-corruption efforts.
The co-rapporteurs of PACE’s Monitoring Committee have outlined a comprehensive agenda that includes high-level meetings with Moldova’s key figures, including President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Additionally, discussions are planned with the leaders of parliamentary factions and members of the Moldovan delegation to PACE.
Engagements are also slated with the leadership of the Justice Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Mihail Popsoi. The visit’s program further encompasses dialogues with the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Supreme Court of Justice, the National Integrity Authority, and the Central Electoral Commission.

The co-rapporteurs will extend their visit to Comrat, where meetings are scheduled with the President of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, Dmitri Constantinov, along with representatives of People’s Assembly factions and local civil society organizations.
The delegation, tasked with overseeing Moldova’s compliance with obligations and commitments, comprises Pierre-Alain Fridez, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, and Bas Klein as co-rapporteurs.
