Drivers operating right-hand drive vehicles in the Republic of Moldova should follow several new traffic regulations. The exception will be right-hand-drive cars in international traffic. The Government approved this document at the meeting on Wednesday, 8 May.
“The document provides the special periscopic mirrors fitting to right-hand-drive cars to ensure better visibility on the left-hand side. Vehicles will also be equipped with headlamp converters to redirect light for traffic on the right-hand side of the carriageway in the direction of travel, except for vehicles that allow manual or automatic adaptation of the headlamp aiming mode,” the Government warns.
The new requirements will help to avoid blind spots for oncoming drivers. Similarly, the technical prescriptions will ensure that drivers have a wider field of vision on the left when overtaking other road users.
