Good news! Moldovans will receive notifications when their passport or ID card expires

The Public Services Agency (PSA) announces that citizens can receive notifications when their passport or ID card is about to expire.

We are talking about the electronic signature that allows citizens to register with the government’s electronic notification service – MNotify (mnotify.gov.md).

“The pre-notification of citizens is done 60 and 30 days before the validity period expiration of documents. The third endorsement will be on the expiration date or cancellation of the passport or ID card for other reasons. The PSA provides the MNotify service free of charge. Since the service launched on January 15, 2024, it has sent 20,804 notifications. Citizens can receive notifications via email, the citizen’s government portal, short messages (SMS), or instant messages on Facebook Messenger, Viber, Telegram, Skype, and WhatsApp, depending on what the citizen has set in their profile in MNotify. We encourage Moldovan citizens to perfect their electronic signatures. Currently, people can obtain electronic signatures at the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service and mobile phone operators,” the ASP announced in a Facebook post.

For 2025, the ASP plans to introduce a new identity document for Moldovan citizens – the Identity Card.
