Moldovan winemakers will benefit from approximately eight million lei (400 thousand euros) in grants to expand their presence and strengthen their reputation in international markets. The WESA Grant Program – Moldovan Wine Promotion and Export, funded by the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF), was launched today.
The National Inbound Tourism Association of Moldova, in partnership with the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV) and the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity, will implement this initiative.
At the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea emphasized that these support programs will enable wine producers to access grants and aid to penetrate European and global markets.

“It is essential for Moldovan wines to be appreciated worldwide. Wine production is only part of the road to success. Equally essential is promotion and presence in international markets, often a difficult challenge,” he said.
The WESA Grant Program, set to run over the next 12 months, aims to boost sales of Moldovan wines in international markets, particularly in non-traditional markets such as Romania, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, Japan, and Canada. The program intends to support 15 Moldovan wine companies in achieving this goal.
