The Moldovan authorities must look at the geopolitical vector from the citizen’s perspective, according to Adrian Ermurachi, co-director of the Institute for European Policy and Reform (IPRE). In his opinion, the country loses citizens by balancing between the West and Russia.
In the program “Realitatea te priveste,” with Valentina Ursu, the expert stated that Moscow and Brussels show interest in the Republic of Moldova, but the country’s citizens desire well-being. Ermurachi believes that they understand the advantages of European integration.
“We cannot look from the perspective of Brussels or Moscow. We have to look from the perspective of the citizen who lives in Chisinau, Cahul, Balti, Ocnita, or GiugiuleÈ™ti. We have to look from the perspective of these citizens, where we, with whom to associate, what we do to provide these citizens with quality services and jobs because by sitting in two lunettes and doing balancing acts, we have lost one million citizens and we are losing further,” said Adrian Ermurachi.

The IPRE co-director pointed out in the RLIVE TV studio that few Moldovan citizens who go to Moscow took their families there. Still, the situation is different for people who emigrated to EU member states, “It speaks about where people have found themselves better and where people see the quality of life,” the expert concluded.
