Natalia Morari will run as an independent candidate in the presidential elections on October 20. The journalist announced it on Thursday, July 18, at a briefing reviewing her work over the past 15 years.
“I was called a revolutionary. I thought that people’s lives would change with the defeat of the last dictator and thief. But every time after defeating one monster, like in a vicious circle, appeared another one. Our faith in our abilities disappeared. We can escape the poverty trap. We can become a country about which everyone will speak with admiration.
I have not pursued a political career, but the understanding that the current candidates will not bring change made me act. I decided to run as an independent candidate,” Morari said.
