Grape and fruit exporters from the Republic of Moldova will receive USAID support to promote their products in international markets

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry urges Moldovan exporters of grapes and fruits to take advantage of the support offered by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Moldova to promote products on international markets. The deadline for submission of documents is September 5, 2024.

The Association of Table Grape Exporters of Moldova, with support from USAID Moldova’s Rural Competitiveness and Sustainability Project, announced a program to support the promotion of grapes and fruits in international markets. The program helps exporters organize promotions in stores and other outlets in global markets.

“Exporters of table grapes and other fruits from Moldova can benefit from coverage of up to 50% of the total cost of promotion activities, up to €5,000 per company, plus advisory assistance. Application deadlines are July 24-September 5, 2024,” USAID points out.

Pre-export fruit quality assessment is a mandatory requirement for producers and exporters. To make this process as easy as possible, the Moldova Fruct Association, with support from USAID’s Rural Competitiveness and Sustainability Project in Moldova, launched the Fruit Quality Improvement Program for cherries, apricots, apples, plums, and table grapes. Sellers offer high-quality fruit in foreign markets at competitive prices. Ensuring fruit quality generates income, builds the confidence of international partners, and facilitates exporters’ access to new markets.

The authorities will implement the program to improve the quality of fruit and table grapes during 2024-2025.
