Speaker Igor Grosu met today with Lithuanian National Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas. The parliament’s communication and public relations department reported it.
Grosu thanked Kasciunas for his support in adopting the European Council decision to start accession negotiations with Moldova. “Lithuania is one of the most active supporters of Moldova’s EU accession and provides significant political and financial support to mitigate the consequences of Russia’s aggression against our country,” Grosu said.
He emphasized that the government prioritizes the country’s defense and security sector, with authorities taking concrete steps to modernize the National Army and strengthen defense capabilities, highlighting Lithuania’s assistance. The officials also exchanged views on combating propaganda – a direct threat to state security.
