Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Chisinau, Stanislav Kazecky, who is concluding his diplomatic mission, met to discuss ways to boost Moldovan-Czech bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Mihai Popsoi welcomed the strengthening of these relations, highlighting the official visit by the President of the Republic of Moldova to the Czech Republic and the exchange of visits between foreign ministers and parliamentarians from both countries.
He also emphasized the growth in trade and economic exchanges and the energy cooperation between the two nations.

The Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic established diplomatic relations on June 1, 1992.
In 2023, the foreign trade volume between the Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic reached 326.42 million USD, marking a 34.68% increase compared to 2022. Exports accounted for 160.91 million USD, up by 54.56%, while imports totaled 165.51 million USD, reflecting a 19.71% rise.
In 2023, the Czech Republic ranked 5th among Moldova’s main export destinations, with a 4.0% share of total exports. Also, it ranked 11th among the top countries of origin for imports, holding a 1.9% share.
The Czech Republic is also the third-largest global market for bottled wines from the Republic of Moldova, with exports totaling 7.4 million USD, following Romania and Poland.
