President Maia Sandu participated in the second edition of the Author Wine Festival, where over 30 small local producers showcased their wines.
“This community of dedicated winemakers pours their passion into each bottle, demonstrating the importance of creating with care to achieve quality. We must support our producers by buying and promoting Moldovan wines worldwide,” Maia Sandu stated.
Last weekend, attendees could explore a variety of personal-label wines at the festival, held at the Square of the National History Museum of Moldova. The event, organized by the Association of Small Wine Producers of Moldova, featured masterclasses with renowned sommeliers and tastings. Limited edition wines and award-winning bottles were also on display.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova and the National Office of Vine and Wine support the festival.
In 2023, Moldovan wine exports increased by 18%, with Europe remaining the largest market, registering a 36% growth in value. Moldova ranks among the top 20 wine-producing countries, exporting to over 70 countries worldwide.
