Ninety-nine winemakers have registered for the National Wine Day, which will take place on October 5th and 6th in PMAN. In a press conference, Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Office for Vine and Wine, announced that the number of participants had increased, setting a new record this year. Additional participants may register at the last minute, according to IPN.
This year’s event will feature a new slogan: ”Our Wine Is Amazingly Good.”
Admission to the festival area will be free. However, attendees can purchase a Taster’s Pass for 250 lei, which grants access to 11 wine tastings and includes a Tritan glass. The pass also provides a 20% discount on Wine of Moldova promotional items, according to IPN.
”PMAN is a limited space, and for the first time, we are expanding from Banulescu-Bodoni Street to Maria Cebotari Street. This area will feature a gastronomic zone, providing our visitors with a unique experience to savor wines paired with traditional dishes. Additionally, the National Wine Day is a crucial tool for promoting the culture of wine consumption. Over two days, we will host the Wine School, including notable personalities from the viticulture sector,” added Stefan Iamandi.
At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, stated that wine has become a hallmark of the Republic of Moldova. It is due to the significant efforts of those working in this sector. According to him, behind every bottle of wine lies a tremendous amount of work that starts as early as February, when people go out to clean the vines.

“I want to invite everyone to join us on October 5th and 6th. During these two days, you can gain insights through different master classes. You will have the chance to communicate directly with the producers. In a store, you see a bottle of wine on the shelf, but at the festival, you get to see who is behind that bottle, you meet the person, the producer,” noted Vladimir Bolea.
The Tasting Passport can be purchased on the day of the event at the Info Point or online. Additionally, during National Wine Day, guided tours of wineries will be available for a fee.
The National Office for Vine and Wine organizes the event with support from strategic partners USAID Moldova and the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund.
