11 Moldovan citizens urgently evacuated from the Republic of Lebanon. When will they arrive in Chisinau?

A group of 11 Moldovan citizens, including mothers with children, were evacuated from Lebanon with the help of Ukrainian authorities and will return to Moldova on Thursday, October 3. They are currently in Poland, Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi confirms.

“The Republic of Moldova cares for its citizens and will never leave them in danger. These citizens, 11 in number, mothers with children are safe in Poland, and tomorrow morning, they are due to arrive in Moldova. By noon tomorrow, they should be safe,” the foreign minister said.

Minister Popsoi thanked his partners in Kyiv for their support and the International Organization for Migration for facilitating the evacuation process, including in Poland. He thanked his colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for organizing the entire operation.

“There were 15 requests in Lebanon. We will evacuate them at the next opportunity, probably in a few days. I reiterate, Moldova, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will always support our citizens and will provide security to our citizens who are in distress,” Popsoi added.

Moldovan citizens residing in Lebanon have submitted applications to the Moldovan embassy in Ankara, which handles diplomatic affairs for Lebanon. They requested help and evacuation from the tense situation in the region.
