Moldovan authorities deported a foreigner after declaring them an undesirable person

Moldovan authorities deported a foreign citizen after deeming him an undesirable person who posed a threat to national security. The General Inspectorate for Migration of the Interior Ministry reported about it.

In early September, Moldovan police conducted searches to investigate the actions intended to destabilize the country ahead of the October 20 presidential election and the European integration referendum. Authorities suggested these actions could have been part of a broader destabilization effort.

“A 60-year-old foreign national was declared undesirable on Moldovan territory for five years and deported due to interference in the country’s internal affairs, which jeopardized national security,” the ministry stated in a post on social media.
