Two of Sweden’s most important officials, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlen shared important lessons with journalist Ecaterina Covali about the road to a civilized country with free and happy people. In interviews with the “Bridges to Europe” program in Stockholm, high-ranking officials expressed their support for the Republic of Moldova ahead of its crucial EU accession referendum. “We hope with all our hearts that you will become a member of the European Union, and we want to see you as one of the important members of the democratic Western family. We consider it to be your decision, not ours. But we hope to see you with us,” says Swedish Prime Minister ULF KRISTERSSON.
In the interview, the Speaker of the Stockholm Parliament affirmed that Sweden strongly supports Moldova’s candidate status and is ready to continue helping Chisinau become an integral part of the EU.

“The people of Moldova deserve to enjoy the freedoms and prosperity that the European Union can offer, as well as peace as a precondition for everything else. We need peace and stability to sustain freedom and to create wealth and opportunity. This is, of course, a cornerstone of the whole European project to create a continent of peace and peaceful cooperation,” says the President of the Swedish Parliament, ANDREAS NORLEN.
