(VIDEO) What Does Amending the Constitution Mean After the Referendum? Explanation by the Vice President of Parliament, Doina Gherman

Amending the Constitution after the referendum will accelerate Moldova’s progress in European integration, says Vice President of Parliament Doina Gherman. Invited to the RLIVE TV studio, the official emphasized that no political force could go against the people’s will.

The politician stated on the show “Rezoomat” with Ileana Pirgaru that the referendum confirms Moldovan citizens’ European identity and aspirations. At the same time, she noted that no political force will be able to change the country’s geopolitical orientation once it is enshrined in the Constitution.

“It is a national strategic objective for the country. It is about the European identity of the Moldovans. It’s about advancing on the European path practically. Progress will be faster and more efficient with this objective enshrined in the Constitution, and no one will have the right to violate the will of the people, as enshrined in the country’s Supreme Law,” stated Doina Gherman.
