Maia Sandu addressed the citizens: Thanks to the labor of tens and hundreds of thousands of people, Moldova is proudly moving forward

On Tuesday evening, November 5, President Maia Sandu delivered a message of unity to Moldovans, highlighting three key points. She expressed gratitude for citizens’ mobilization to vote in the second round of the presidential elections, acknowledged the concerns of those who feel discontent, and promised to address them. She also called on politicians to avoid sowing division among the people.

“Dear Moldovans, in recent months, especially on November 3, we have built a strong national bond rooted in our shared love for Moldova. Our strength lies in holding the nation together—standing united, with our heads high, and trusting in one another. Our country’s unity and the goodwill among all who live here is our highest duty. Thanks to the visible and unseen work of tens, even hundreds of thousands, Moldova moves forward with pride. I have heard your voices and your desire for change. Your resilience and love for this country, shown through your turnout and strong voice, make me act without delay. Together, we will advance this country based on what unites us—the Moldovans’ courage, hard work, and kindness.”

She urged politicians, in particular, to foster respect and goodwill among all citizens. “All of us, with our differences, are one people—whether in Chisinau, OcniÈ›a, Nisporeni, UTA Gagauzia, in the diaspora, young or elderly, those who voted or those who couldn’t. Let’s fill our hearts with brotherhood, solidarity, and humanity. Let’s build on these values passed down from generation to generation and create a stronger, peaceful Moldova,” she concluded.
