The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is to approve the report on the second round of the presidential elections on Friday, November 8, 2024. Members of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) have announced that they will contest the results and boycotted the Parliament session.
The Socialists call for the depoliticization of the Central Electoral Commission, the Constitutional Court, the Audiovisual Council, and the change of the leadership of the national television. At the same time, they point to several violations, including the use of administrative resources and electoral agitation on the day of silence.
“We totalized all the violations and submitted them to the Central Election Commission. We contest the result and ask the Central Electoral Commission to process and come up with clear answers regarding those illegalities,” Vlad Batrincea said at a press briefing.
