Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) summoned David Bochorishvili, the ChargĂ© d’Affaires of the Georgian Embassy in Moldova.
According to the MFA’s press service, the diplomat was summoned in response to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s recent statements about Moldova at the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Budapest.
The MFA conveyed “Moldova’s deep discontent with the Georgian Prime Minister’s distorted and non-conforming approach to Moldova’s European integration and its electoral process.”

In a press release, the MFA stated, “We would like to highlight that the long-standing cooperation and friendship between Moldova and Georgia, as well as our shared objectives in the European integration, should remain our priority.”
At the EPC Summit, Prime Minister Kobakhidze claimed that only around 45 percent of Moldovans support EU accession and suggested that the European Union exhibits “a different attitude” towards Moldova and Georgia.
