The third edition of the Forum for Chief Negotiators on EU Accession will be held in Moldova in late November. Organized by the European Commission through its Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in collaboration with the Bureau for European Integration, the event brings together key stakeholders in the EU integration process.
For three days, Moldova becomes the center of discussions on European integration and the transformative efforts of countries currently negotiating their accession to the European Union.
“We are honored to host, here in Chisinau, current and former chief negotiators, coordinators of negotiation processes from candidate and EU member states, and experts from European institutions. Together with colleagues from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Ukraine, we are sharing experiences and best practices in the negotiation process,” said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.

Participants at the Forum discuss practical aspects and share lessons learned, focusing on developing roadmaps, implementing European legislation, and preparing negotiation positions for complex chapters like agriculture and transport.
“On this shared journey, we have much to learn from one another: how to align national legislation with EU standards, modernize institutions and society, improve the quality of life for citizens, and respond effectively to emerging challenges,” Gherasimov added.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that while the European integration process varies from country to country, the ultimate goal remains: contributing to peace and prosperity for all citizens.
Moldova formally began its EU accession negotiations at an intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg on June 25, 2024. The authorities are now coordinating the bilateral screening phase of the process.
