The number of refugee children is growing in the capital’s schools. Nearly 1900 children attend them

The number of Ukrainian refugee children attending schools in Chisinau continues to grow, with 1,870 minors currently enrolled in schools and kindergartens in the capital. Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici reported an increase of 15 children compared to last week.

Cutasevici emphasized the municipality’s commitment to ensuring inclusion and access to education for Ukrainian children.

“This progress highlights the municipal administration’s ongoing efforts to integrate refugee children into the education system and provide them with access to mainstream education. We are working closely with international organizations and NGOs to support these children logistically and psychologically,” stated Cutasevici.

Chisinau City Hall reports that of the 1,870 Ukrainian refugee children, 1,429 attend 50 educational institutions, while 441 preschool groups in 64 kindergartens.
