“Come Home for Christmas”: The authorities will organize over 40 concerts and performances in Moldova, as well as in the diaspora

The authorities will organize over 40 concerts and performances in localities across the country, as well as in the diaspora, as part of the second edition of the “Come Home for Christmas” campaign. The cultural activities will begin on Thursday, December 19, and will end on January 16, 2025.

In total, according to the Government, 11 music and dance ensembles and groups, including “Fluieras,” “Mugurel,” “Folclor,” “Noroc,” “Concertino,” “Joc,” “Millenium,” “Enigma Romilor,” as well as the National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici,” the Cultural and Art Center “Ginta Latina,” and independent artists, will perform on the stages of cultural centers in 43 localities across all districts of the country. The Republican Puppet Theatre “Licurici” and the Republican Theatre “Luceafarul” will bring “The Magic of Christmas” to cultural centers in 7 villages and cities across the country.

At the same time, citizens in the diaspora who cannot come home will be able to enjoy the winter holidays with the actors from the “Ion Creanga” Theatre in Berlin and Frankfurt from December 19 to 22.

The “Christmas Tales” tour features the fairytale “Mother is the Sun,” the musical comedy “The Mother-in-Law with Three Daughters-in-Law,” engaging games for children, and an authentic show with customs and traditions at the turn of the year.

Local public administrations are encouraged to highlight local traditions by organizing fairs, craft exhibitions, concerts with local artists, or interactive workshops. These activities aim to promote the unique identity of each locality while also strengthening cohesion and community spirit.
