The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova rejects false claims by Russian media about an alleged plan for military actions in the Transnistrian region. Adrian Balutel, head of the Moldovan President’s Office, states that the information seeks “to sow panic and distrust.”
“The allegations that Moldovan authorities are preparing military actions in Transnistria are false, serious, and dangerous disinformation. These claims aim to incite panic and erode trust. Chisinau remains firmly committed to resolving the conflict peacefully without exceptions. A critical step towards resolving the dispute is the complete and unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops illegally stationed on Moldova’s sovereign territory.
Blaming Chisinau or Kyiv for the region’s energy situation is equally manipulative and false. We emphasize that Moldovagaz and Gazprom have a clear contract ensuring natural gas delivery to the left bank, regardless of the transit route. The current problems result from Gazprom’s refusal to fulfill its contractual obligations, not from actions by the Moldovan Government.
