Several foreign diplomats gave Moldovans a special gift on Christmas Eve, singing “O Brad Frumos.”
In the video, Janis Mazeiks, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau, is seen alongside ambassadors and diplomats from the EU, as well as representatives from the USA, the UK, Japan, Ukraine, and Switzerland in the country.
“During the holidays, everyone dreams of peace and well-being. In such moments, we become one family, regardless of the country we come from or the language we speak,” stated the message from the EU Delegation to Chisinau.

“For these holidays, we stand together as partners of Moldova, in the spirit of unity, friendship, and joy, and we unite our voices to share this beloved song, which reminds us of what unites us: hope, love, and the magic of the holidays. We hope sincere message brings a smile and warmth to your hearts. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with joy,” noted the American diplomats.
This is not the first time foreign ambassadors have surprised Moldovans in such a way. Previously, former heads of the U.S. Embassy recited poems and shared holiday greetings in Romanian. The head of the EU Delegation, Janis Mazeiks, released a rock version of the song “In limba ta.”
