(VIDEO) Constantin Borosan: “There is no basis for disconnecting electricity”

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, stated during the Rezoomat show on Rlive TV that the country’s electricity consumption situation remains under control, and scenarios involving network disconnections are not justified now. According to the official, energy consumption has decreased by 50-100 MW, reflecting the public’s responsiveness to the authorities’ calls to conserve energy.

“Contingency plans include disconnection schedules to protect the energy system, but currently, there is no justification for applying these measures. Energy consumption is fully covered. Moreover, since authorities declared a state of emergency and thanks to proactive communication, we’ve noticed a decrease in consumption. Consumption is lower than the supplier planned, which means citizens are receptive and showing solidarity. The reduction of 50-100 MW is a significant contribution that helps us fully meet our energy needs,” stated Constantin Borosan.

The Ministry of Energy encourages the public to remain vigilant and adopt responsible energy consumption habits.

For today, January 16, Energocom announced that it has fully reserved the commercial capacity at the Romanian border needed to supplement domestic production with imports. Thus, in addition to electricity generated by the thermal power plants in Chisinau and Balti and renewable energy installations, the remaining consumption needs are being met with imported energy through bilateral contracts or market purchases.
