Denmark has pledged €5.4 million to support Moldova’s Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund. This aid will help compensate Moldovans struggling with rising gas and electricity prices during the winter.
“Denmark condemns Russia’s use of energy as a geopolitical weapon against Moldova. These actions severely impact the Moldovan people, who face soaring gas and electricity costs. Denmark will continue supporting Moldova’s energy independence and resilience and remains a reliable partner,” said Danish Ambassador to Moldova Søren Jensen.
Beyond this new commitment, Denmark supports Moldova’s efforts to improve energy efficiency, transition to green energy, and align its energy sector with EU standards. The latest assistance adds to Denmark’s existing support in Moldova, which now exceeds €30 million.
