The Consolidated Programmes Implementation Unit (UCIP) of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced financial support for the irrigation systems development, providing grants of up to 500,000 dollars. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May 2025, and funds are limited.
These funds aim to invest in irrigation systems linked to central networks, pumping stations from rivers and lakes, and the construction or rehabilitation of reservoirs.
“To benefit from this support, farmers must form a group of at least five producers from the same settlement. They must contribute 10 percent of the project’s value, and beneficiaries are exempt from value-added tax (VAT) on the equipment purchased. In addition to financial support, the program offers free technical assistance for preparing the application and guidance throughout the project’s implementation, from application to the operation of the irrigation systems,” the financer explained.
