The governments of Moldova and Iceland are preparing an air services agreement. During its meeting on Wednesday, March 12, the Chisinau Executive will approve the signing of the document.
Negotiations began in 2023. The agreement aims to regulate air services between the two countries, covering certification, security measures, tariffs, taxes, and other aspects. Through this initiative, the government seeks to strengthen trade, economic, and diplomatic relations between Moldova and Iceland.

“Expanding passenger traffic between Moldova and Iceland will create new jobs and benefit consumers. These benefits include improved service quality, lower fares, shorter travel times, and increased mutual tourism.,” stated the informational note on the negotiation project.
Previously, Chisinau authorities indicated that Iceland initiated the agreement. The intention was expressed through an exchange of diplomatic notes, as mentioned in the project.
