Russia Detains Two Moldovan Citizens on Suspicion of Collaborating with Ukrainian Special Services

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained two Moldovan citizens on suspicion of collaborating with Ukrainian special services. One detainee allegedly transported explosives, while the other gathered intelligence on Russian military targets.

The FSB identified one of the suspects as Marius Pruneanu, who it claims was a member of Ukraine’s International Legion. According to Russian authorities, Ukrainian intelligence recruited Pruneanu and provided him with a vehicle to deliver explosives to the Russian cities of Volgograd and Saratov.

The FSB also claims that two Russian nationals, allegedly recruited for terrorist attacks in Samara, underwent polygraph tests in Chisinau. One of them reportedly evaded Russian military mobilization. The FSB accused the Moldovan government of enabling subversive actions on its territory, though it did not provide concrete evidence.
