President Maia Sandu met today with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is making a transit visit to the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting focused on regional security developments, ongoing efforts to restore peace, and the deepening of Moldova–NATO cooperation under the new Individual Partnership Program, adopted by the Moldovan government in January 2025.
President Sandu emphasized the importance of Moldova’s long-standing partnership with NATO, which spans over 30 years within the framework of the Partnership for Peace. She reaffirmed that this cooperation fully respects Moldova’s constitutional neutrality and contributes to strengthening the security of Moldovan citizens.

Through NATO’s support, Moldova has improved its capacity to prevent and manage crises, modernize its security and defense institutions, and enhance the protection of its information and cyberspace infrastructure.
