Moldovan authorities are actively working to reduce reliance on electricity imports from the Cuciurgan power station, Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu announced. The minister emphasized the government’s continued efforts to diversify electricity sources as part of a broader energy security strategy.
Junghietu also confirmed that the volume of natural gas supplied to the Transnistrian region will remain unchanged. “Tiraspol has not made any requests to increase the volume of gas. The limit is three million cubic meters, and requests have not come,” the minister said.
Regarding gas prices, Junghietu noted that market trends do not currently indicate an increase in tariffs.

“The market conjuncture does not show an increase in tariffs—there is stability at the moment,” he stated. While a price reduction is not imminent, he added that the market is still adjusting, especially in light of extended gas stockpiling timelines across Europe, which should ease pressure on the system.
