Eugenia Gutsul remains under house arrest. The appeal of the prosecutors and the appeal of the lawyers – rejected

Gagauzia’s Bashkan Eugenia Gutsul remains under house arrest. The Center Court of Appeal rejected the appeal of the prosecutors, who insist on her placement in solitary confinement, and that of her lawyers, who asked for her release, IPN reports.

Eugenia Gutsul thanked her supporters who gathered outside the courthouse again this time, where they called for her to be removed from the criminal proceedings.

“For another three weeks, I will be under house arrest with a bracelet. Lawlessness, but this is not forever, the ruling party, PAS, is not forever, and no government has been forever in any country. There will come smart and good people who will really think about our people,” says the Bashkan.

In its judgment, the Central Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal, Ciocana district, of April 9, by which the bashkan was released from behind bars and placed under house arrest.

The Bashkan of Gagauzia was detained at Chisinau International Airport on the evening of March 25. She is targeted in two criminal cases. In one of them, she is accused of fraudulent management of electoral funds, illegal financing, and false statements in the electoral campaign for the election of the Bashkan of Gagauzia.

In the other case, the law enforcement bodies accuse Eugenia Gutsul and the secretary of the Central Office of the former Shor party of having been complicit in the illegal financing of the political party and an electoral contestant by an organized criminal group.
