Representatives of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) are active participants in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held from April 21 to 26 in Washington, D.C. Anca Dragu, the Governor of the NBM, is leading Moldova’s delegation.
The delegation plans to hold meetings with high-level officials from the IMF, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other international institutions and organizations.
These events offer a vital platform for dialogue with global financial leaders, especially in light of current economic and geopolitical challenges. On the sidelines of the meetings, the NBM delegation will conduct bilateral discussions focused on Moldova’s financial sector development priorities.
“The support provided by our development partners, especially the IMF and the World Bank, is essential for advancing economic reforms and building a sustainable development framework,” said Anca Dragu. “This commitment has a direct impact on improving the living standards of our citizens.”

Governor Dragu will meet with several IMF representatives, including the Deputy Managing Director, the Director of the European Department, and the Executive Director for Moldova.
She will discuss Moldova’s macroeconomic outlook, the performance of the IMF-supported program, and the central bank’s reform agenda, particularly in the context of Moldova’s integration into the SEPA payment area and the European community.
Governor Dragu will meet with the World Bank’s Executive Director for Moldova, the Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, and other key decision-makers.
Moldova’s delegation also includes First Deputy Governor Petru Rotaru, Deputy Governor Mihnea Constantinescu, and Minister of Finance Victoria Belous, who will represent the country in additional sessions and consultations.
