Sergiu Harea, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova, participated in a high-level meeting with Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement. The event brought together Eurochambres leadership and representatives from chambers of commerce across EU candidate and potential candidate countries, bani.md reports.
Held in intensified dialogue on EU enlargement, the meeting focused on the chambers of commerce’s strategic role in the integration process, particularly in supporting SMEs, promoting economic cooperation, and advancing institutional convergence.
In his address, Harea reaffirmed the CCI’s commitment to supporting Moldovan SMEs, driving economic reforms, and aligning with European standards. He highlighted Moldova’s active participation in initiatives such as the Enterprise Europe Network and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, which facilitate Moldovan entrepreneurs’ integration into the EU single market.

He also proposed launching a program to exchange best practices between chambers of commerce in candidate countries and EU member states, to accelerate economic and institutional integration.
