Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a working meeting on Monday with Michael Roux, Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea Region at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The French Ambassador to Moldova, Dominique Waag, also participated in the discussions.
According to the Reintegration Policy Office, the talks focused on the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the current challenges affecting both banks of the Dniester River.
Serebrian reiterated Chisinau’s priorities in advancing reintegration policies and drew attention to the blockade imposed by Tiraspol, which continues to boycott the 1+1 dialogue format and disrupt the work of sectoral working groups.

The Deputy Prime Minister also referred to the energy crisis experienced last winter, stressing that the Chisinau authorities acted swiftly to mitigate the negative impact on the eastern districts’ population, caused by Gazprom’s unilateral supply decision.
He expressed gratitude to European partners for their financial, logistical, and political support, emphasizing that a sustainable energy security solution for the region lies in accepting assistance from both Chisinau and the European Union.
After the meeting, Serebrian thanked the French authorities for their steadfast support in Moldova’s reintegration efforts and European integration path, underscoring the strategic partnership with France as vital to national sovereignty and regional stability.
