The Republic of Moldova will play a key role in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, said Alberto Carlei, Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Office in Moldova, in an interview with RLIVE.
“The region holds significant geopolitical importance, and the war in Ukraine has made this even more evident,” Carlei emphasized.
He explained that Ukraine remains a priority for the EIB, and Moldova’s position between the European Union and Ukraine makes it a strategic actor in the upcoming reconstruction efforts.
Carlei noted that the EIB has already discussed with Moldovan authorities the possibility of transforming Moldova’s border regions into a logistics hub for international companies involved in Ukraine’s reconstruction. This plan could bring substantial investments and economic opportunities to the country.
“Moldova can become a gateway for European and international companies participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction, and we are ready to support this process,” Carlei added.
