The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced in a press release that it is drafting a decision to amend regulations on establishing polling stations abroad and in the Transnistrian region.
The CEC is updating these regulations following a new law on identity documents, which came into force on March 31, 2025. This law introduced several significant changes.
Authorities removed information on a permanent or temporary residence from internal identity documents. The measure eliminates the need to replace identity documents and allows residents to update their addresses online. The law also introduced the identity card as the primary document in circulation.

The CEC emphasized that these legal changes require updates to electoral regulations to simplify the voting process for citizens, including those in the diaspora and Transnistria.
The CEC invites interested individuals to submit suggestions or opinions on the draft decision by June 6, 2025.
