Over the past five years, Japan, through JICA, has provided Moldova with about €42 million in grants and concessional loans. Authorities used the funding for several impactful projects: modern medical equipment for five hospitals, 19 emergency and rescue vehicles for firefighters, and eco-friendly technologies for more than 1,000 farmers—including photovoltaic systems for 47 farms worth €2.6 million.
The JICA also offered €2 million in subsidies to help local farms purchase fertilizers and provided modern equipment to the National Library to digitize Moldova’s cultural heritage and improve access to information.
