The opaque deliveries of liquefied gas, which border on legality, cause the shortage of liquefied gas at gas stations on the left bank of the Dniester. Former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea told IPN that the citizens—not the Tiraspol regime—bear the consequences.
Alexandru Flenchea, co-founder of the Peace Initiative Association, emphasized that the authorities in Chisinau must keep in mind that ordinary people—the citizens of the Republic of Moldova—are the ones who suffer, not the regime. “The Sheriff company loses revenue, but this does not weaken the regime, which the authorities maintain by other means,” he said.
The former Deputy Prime Minister stated that, after three decades in which the Transnistrian region received free gas supplies financed by the Russian Federation, the situation on the left bank is now very difficult. According to him, things change dramatically once the funding stops.

The expert insists that constitutional authorities in Chisinau, responsible to all citizens—including those living on the left bank—must solve the problem.
Since midnight last night, PECO Metan-Auto ceased selling liquefied gas at all its gas stations in the Transnistrian region. Only emergency and paramilitary services are allowed to refuel with gas. The regional authorities offer no official explanation, while residents spread information through social media.
