On June 5, 2025, in Zagreb, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Carolina Perebinos led the MFA delegation in a new round of Moldovan-Croatian political consultations held in Zagreb.
During the meeting with Andreja Metelko-Zgombic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, they reviewed the current state of Moldovan-Croatian relations, praising the dynamic political dialogue of recent years at various levels, as cited in a press release.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. These areas include energy, information technology, the agro-food industry, pharmaceuticals, migration, infrastructure, education, research and innovation, tourism, and more. In this context, they agreed to organize a bilateral economic forum.

Moldova’s EU accession process was a central topic on the agenda. The Croatian side reiterated its support for Moldova’s European path and expressed willingness to continue sharing its own accession experience with Moldovan officials and experts.
The delegations exchanged views on the regional security situation, the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and its impact on Moldova. State Secretary Carolina Perebinos informed about Moldovan authorities’ efforts to strengthen national resilience and the need to counter hybrid threats and foreign interference, including in the country’s democratic processes.
They also praised productive cooperation within international organizations, including mutual support for candidacies proposed by both countries for positions within UN structures.
