In Chisinau, officials organized a one-day simulation of hybrid digital threats. They aimed to raise awareness and enhance responses to potential disinformation campaigns and cyberattacks. EU authorities collaborated in the exercise, which took place ahead of the parliamentary elections on 28 September, according to IPN.
A press release from the EU bloc stated that representatives from Google, Meta, and TikTok joined the simulation alongside Moldovan authorities, civil society organizations, fact-checkers, independent media, and international partners.
Moldova recently created a rapid response team for hybrid threats. EU experts on the team now advise Chisinau authorities on countering foreign interference.
