President Maia Sandu Urges Boost in Labor Productivity at the EBA General Assembly

President Maia Sandu addressed the General Assembly of the European Business Association (EBA), where around 250 members—entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from the energy, manufacturing, financial services, and technology sectors—gathered to discuss Moldova’s economic future.

President Sandu thanked the business community for driving Moldova’s economic development and supporting its European modernization and integration. She called on the business sector to make labor productivity a national priority, stressing that European integration provides the tools, opportunities, and support needed to achieve this goal.

“We intend to make substantial gains in economic productivity across all sectors,” President Sandu said. “We all want more competitive products and services that stand strong on the European market. Achieving this depends on how agile, creative, and resilient we are in the face of challenges.”

She added, “European integration remains our core strategy—including for the business environment. We must seize this opportunity—it gives us access to financial resources, company support programs, and workforce development initiatives.”
