Six athletes will represent the Republic of Moldova at the European Canoe Sprint Championships, set to begin on Thursday, June 19, in Racice, Czech Republic.
Serghei Tarnovschi, Oleg Tarnovschi, Mihai Chihaia, Daniela Cociu, Maria Olarasu, and Elena Glizan will compete for podium finishes in their respective events. “The National Team Training Center is cheering on our canoeists at the European Championships,” the institution announced.
Canoeist Serghei Tarnovschi recently claimed the world champion title in the 500-meter event in Uzbekistan, finishing with a time of 01:47.312. The duo Daniela Cociu and Maria Olarasu also earned silver at the same competition in the 200-meter double, recording a time of 44.104.
