At the European level, Moldova holds the sixth position, reflecting major progress in advancing gender equity. Deputy Parliament Speaker Doina Gherman announced the achievement at the start of a recent parliamentary plenary session.

According to Gherman, the ranking highlights Moldova’s strong commitment to promoting women’s rights, ensuring equal opportunities, and fostering balanced participation in public and professional life.

“I want to thank all the extraordinary women of our country, who have demonstrated courage, strength, and remarkable abilities in defending peace, justice, human rights, equity, and gender equality, and in empowering women and girls in all their diversity—often at great personal risk and sacrifice.”

She concluded by emphasizing that this recognition confirms Moldova is on the right path and must continue promoting democratic and inclusive values with confidence.
