Chisinau hosted the seventh meeting of the Moldovan–Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, bringing together representatives from ministries and governmental agencies of both countries. Participants focused on strengthening bilateral relations in key sectors, including the economy, investment, agriculture, energy, environment, tourism, and infrastructure.
During the plenary session, Mircea Pascaluta, State Secretary for Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR), outlined Moldova’s priorities for modernizing infrastructure and digitizing the transport sector. He emphasized opportunities for technical and institutional cooperation with Poland.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in several infrastructure areas, including:
- Holding the Joint Committee for Road Transport meeting in Warsaw this July;
- Exchanging best practices on transport digitization and road operations control;
- Supporting Moldova in securing special CEMT authorization quotas for its carriers;
- Facilitating collaboration between Moldova’s Naval Agency and the Polish Register of Shipping;

- Assistance for rail transport liberalization;
- Continuing dialogue to extend the EU–Moldova road transport agreement.
The meeting also fostered sectoral dialogue on shared priorities – entrepreneurship and SME development, energy security and the green transition, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection.
Officials concluded the meeting by signing an official protocol that formalizes the agreed areas of cooperation. They also signed a separate agricultural cooperation agreement aimed at promoting the exchange of expertise and best practices between the two countries relevant institutions.
According to both governments, the meeting reaffirmed Moldova’s and Poland’s strong commitment to deepening their bilateral partnership and advancing Moldova’s European integration through concrete economic and institutional development initiatives.
