During a short visit to Chisinau, entrepreneur and Glovo co-founder Sacha Michaud gave an interview to RLIVE TV, where he discussed his professional journey, the challenges of the business world, his personal passions, and Glovo’s plans for the Republic of Moldova.
Founded 10 years ago, Glovo now operates in 23 countries and thousands of cities around the world, collaborating with over 180,000 partners.
Moldova – A Promising Market for Quick Commerce
In 2024, Glovo Moldova experienced rapid growth, particularly in supermarket deliveries. As a result, Glovo aims to become the digital partner of all small local businesses by giving them access to the online marketplace.
“There was a lack of delivery services. We came in with a fast, efficient digital solution, and people responded immediately. Why wait two to three days for a product when it’s already in your city and can reach you in 30 minutes?”
According to Glovo’s co-founder, the way people purchase products will radically change in the coming years — not only in Moldova but globally, where this transformation has already begun. Two types of consumers will emerge: those who seek the physical experience of choosing items and those who know exactly what they want. Everything will depend on need, convenience, and increasing digitalization.

From Jockey to Glovo Co-Founder
Few people know that Sacha Michaud worked as a jockey before becoming an entrepreneur. Later, he discovered his passion for technology.
“I moved to Barcelona and fell in love with the city. Eventually, I shifted to the tech field. I was lucky things went well. For a while, I worked in the online gaming industry in partnership with the world’s largest gaming company. And finally, 10 years ago, I co-founded Glovo,” Michaud recalled.
Although this was his first visit to Moldova, Sacha Michaud said he was pleasantly surprised by how modern Chisinau is. He enjoyed traditional Moldovan cuisine and promised to return to discover more beautiful places in the country.
