Wadephul’s visit to Moldova followed his trip to Kyiv, where he strongly condemned Russia’s attempts to force Ukraine into surrender. In Chisinau, he reaffirmed that Moldova remains a strategic partner for Germany and that its stability is essential for Europe’s security.

During his visit, Wadephul toured the Birth of God Cathedral and met with Moldovan religious leaders to discuss bilateral cooperation, political and economic support, and the broader regional security situation.

The German minister dined with President Maia Sandu at the State Residence.

Wadephul visited Ukraine on June 30 and July 1, before arriving in Moldova.
